My import encountered an error: what can I do?
1. Overview: manual import
Arenametrix provides a simplified data import tool available on the Import page. This feature allows you to add contacts and/or BtoB contacts to your database in bulk. As long as your Excel file contains data related to contacts, it can be imported.
Please note: the only requirement is that each column must represent a specific type of information, and each row must represent one contact. In addition, the first row must contain the column headers so that the information can be correctly identified (see the screenshot below).

2. Import a contacts file
To do this, go to the Contacts tab, then click Import (1). Next, select your Excel file (2), give it a name (3), then Submit the import (4).

Next comes the field mapping page. This page allows Arenametrix to place the correct information in the appropriate fields of the contact records. You will need to match the fields from your file with those in Arenametrix, as shown in the example below. By clicking the dropdown menu, you will find the information from your file.

Then select the column from your file that corresponds to the First name field in Arenametrix.

Once you have matched all the available information, validate by clicking Import.
Your contacts are then imported.

3. What is the correct format for my import file?
You can import a spreadsheet file, with 2 possible formats:
- .xlsx
- .csv
4. What is the maximum size of a file to import?
Your file must not exceed 10 MB, for technical load reasons.
If your file is larger, you have several options:
- split your file into multiple parts
- reduce the size of your file by removing unnecessary columns that will not be imported
